Did someone say free Swedish meatballs?!

Businesses across the country are scurrying to regain their footing amid the Trump administration’s tariffs, which have led to a colossal shift in consumer-buying habits. But IKEA appears to be flourishing. In a press announcement, the company revealed its market share increased by 13.6 percent over the last five years, and it plans to move forward with its omnichannel growth strategy. This includes a snazzy rewards program for loyalty customers and eight new store openings.

IKEA is opening eight new stores in 2025.
IKEA is expanding its U.S. physical footprint in 2025. The Swedish furniture retailer intends to break ground on eight new locations across the country, half of which will have California zip codes. According to the news release, all stores but the Santa Monica location will be organized in IKEA’s new “Plan & order points with Pick-up” format.
This speciality format varies from traditional IKEA warehouses, “as it gives customers the opportunity to meet with the IKEA store team to plan and order home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help—such as kitchen, bathroom and closet storage systems,” explains the company. “With the addition of the IKEA Pick-up point, customers will be able to collect their purchases when and where it’s convenient for them.”
IKEA grand openings will take place in the following cities.
- Cherry Hill, PA
- Hunt Valley, MD
- Beaverton, OR
- Scottsdale, AZ
- Thousand Oaks, CA
- Ontario, CA
- Colma, CA
- Santa Monica, CA (Pick-up only)
Per company predictions, these stores will be open to the public by the end of summer 2025.
